Essaouira has a mild, temperate climate year-round, without the extreme summer heat found inland in Marrakech. The trade-off is wind: the town is famously breezy, especially in spring and summer, which is exactly what makes it a magnet for surfers and kitesurfers. Sea mist and cooler evenings are common, so a light layer is useful even in the warmer months.
