Almost. Essaouira sits in the path of the Atlantic trade winds — the 'Alizés' — which is exactly why it is a world-class surf and kitesurf town and why the medina stays cool in summer. The wind is strongest in the afternoons from April to September and gentler in the morning and through autumn. The walled medina, the port and the souks are sheltered and always comfortable; we bring a windproof layer for every client.

For high season (Sep–Apr), the June Gnaoua festival, and any trip with a surf or kitesurf lesson, book 4–8 weeks ahead. Last-minute is usually still possible with a phone call.

Goats genuinely climb argan trees — it's been happening for centuries because the fruit is up there. Sadly, some operators along the main road tether goats in trees for paid photos. We avoid those entirely and only stop where the herd lives and grazes freely, which means sightings are best in late spring and summer when the fruit is on the tree.

Yes. We work with established women's argan cooperatives that pay their members directly and were part of the movement that gave rural Berber women independent income. You see the hand-pressing yourself and buy from the women who did it.
