Good to know

Practical notes

  • Three days suits travellers who want to relax; two is enough for the core highlights.
  • Essaouira is one of Morocco's calmest, least hassly medinas — comfortable for solo and first-time visitors.
  • The argan goats are seasonal and wild — guides know the current spots; never pay roadside 'staged' goat photos.

Frequently asked

Is three days too long in Essaouira?

Not if you want to unwind — three days lets you split the medina, an argan-country morning and a beach-and-galleries day. For highlights only, two days is enough.

What is there to do in Essaouira beyond the medina?

The long Atlantic bay for walks and watersports, women's argan co-operatives inland, art galleries and thuya-wood workshops, and exceptional fresh seafood at the port.
